Lip Fillers

Lip Fillers can be used to increase the fullness of the lips, improve the cupids bow for a more “pouty” defined look and to generally improve the shape and symmetry of lips especially as we age. A range of dermal fillers can be used to enhance the lips but the most commonly used are those containing hyaluronic acid – the most common fillers used are Restylane and Juvederm. The good news is that these fillers can be dissolved if the end result isn’t what you were looking for.

  • The fillers will last 4-6 months so top ups are required.
  • Results are immediate with true results visible after 5-7 days when swelling has reduced.
  • If done correctly will feel no different from your natural lips.
  • Numbing cream is applied before procedure – ask for dental block if possible.
  • Have realistic expectations – don’t expect massive results after 1ml.
  • Top ups are required to maintain the size and shape.
  • If you have a history of cold sores take meds 3 days before treatment.
  • Your lips will be swollen immediately after the treatment so don’t freak out.
  • Costs range from £160 0.5ml to £280 1ml depending on the practitioner.
  • Always research and view before and after pictures of practitioners work.
Recovery
Recovery is immediate although some swelling or numbness might be noticeable for up to 24 hours. You should be able to return to work and normal activities within twenty four hours.
